Allen Sweeps NOC-Enid To Get Back On Track

GAME ONE

The Red Devils gained the lead in the bottom of the second inning and never looked back in a 13-5 win in 5 innings over NOC Enid on Tuesday, March 9th in game one.

NOC Enid got on the board in the first inning as an error scored one run. Allen pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning as second baseman Kobe McDonald singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Red Devils tallied six runs in the fourth inning putting the pressure on, lead by an error on a ball put in play by McDonald, Kinsey Stuewe, and Cynae Wiley and doubles by Andrea Wilson and Hailee Lundine.

Wiley was the winning pitcher for the Red Devils. The righty pitched all five innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Red Devils racked up 11 hits in game one. Wilson, Lundine, Mikayla Long, and Alayna Brown each collected multiple hits for the Red Devils. Wilson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Red Devils in hits. Allen tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Brown led the way with three.

GAME TWO

Red Devils seized victory in a dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off double at the end of the game to topple NOC Enid in game two. The game was tied at seven with Allen batting in the bottom of the eighth when Makayla Howard doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring the ITB runner Kelsey Morrison.

NOC Enid opened scoring in the first inning, scoring one off a fielder's choice.

The Red Devils notched four runs in the third inning to make up for a 4-run deficit off big bats led by Trista Argabright and Andrea Wilson, who all drove in runs off a solo shot homerun and a three-run inning.

NOC Enid scored three runs in the sixth inning. Makenzie Richards and Slater Eck all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Red Devils evened things back up at seven in the bottom of the seventh inning with Arisbei Black dropping a squeeze bunt on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring Alayna Brown.

Wilson started the game for the Red Devils. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on nine hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Madelynn Collins came in and pitched the Red Devils to victory. The righty went two and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out four and walking zero.

Allen scattered 12 hits in the game. Howard, Aubrey Willis, Argabright, and Black all collected multiple hits for Red Devils. Black, Argabright, Willis, and Howard each collected two hits to lead the Red Devils.

Red Devils are now 5-5 on the season and travel to the Crowder Bash Tournament in Fayetteville, AR next Monday (3/15) and Tuesday (3/16). Game times are TBD.
