The Lady Red Devils Keeps It Close Against Murray State, But Eventually Fall 12-8

The Lady Red Devils faught hard tying the game up against Murray State, but in the end Murray State pulled out the 12-8 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at six with Murray State batting in the top of the seventh when Kayla Mitchell singled off of Raegan Beckley, driving in one run.

The Lady Red Devils collected 14 hits and Murray State had 13 in the high-scoring affair

Murray State took an early lead in the first inning. Katie Caraway drove in one when she singled in the first inning.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, The Lady Red Devils tied things up at six. With one out in the sixth inning Dela Boyd drove in one run when she singled.

McKenzie Smith earned the win for Murray State. She threw four and a third innings, surrendering five runs, eight hits, and striking out three. Raegan Beckley took the loss for The Lady Red Devils. She tossed seven innings, giving up 12 runs, 13 hits, and striking out two.

Winter Henry, Boyd, Emma Broxterman, and Sarah Eckart each collected multiple hits for The Lady Red Devils. Henry, Boyd, and Broxterman each drove in two runs to lead The Lady Red Devils.

Ivy Amador, Caraway, Macy Powell, and Kayla Mitchell each collected multiple hits for Murray State. Amador led Murray State with three hits in four at bats.
