The Lady Red Devils Win Back-And-Forth Affair Against Southeast Community College

The Lady Red Devils and Southeast Community College traded the lead back-and-forth on Thursday, but eventually The Lady Red Devils prevailed 10-9. The Lady Red Devils took the lead for good in the seventh inning. The game was tied at nine with The Lady Red Devils batting in the top of the seventh when Delaney Umholtz doubled off of Logan Runge, driving in one run.

A six-run lead in the fourth inning was just enough for The Lady Red Devils to hold off Southeast Community College for the victory. Southeast Community College scored nine runs in the failed comeback on a single by Mikayla Winter in the fourth, a home run by Savannah Grabowski in the fourth, a home run by Cassidy Burkhardt in the fifth, and a single by Aryssa Borrenpohl in the fifth.

The Lady Red Devils took an early lead in the first inning. Morgan Wayman singled on a 2-0 count in the first inning, scoring one run.

In the top of the sixth inning, The Lady Red Devils tied things up at nine. With one out in the sixth inning Alexis Ramos drove in two runs when she singled.

The Lady Red Devils scored six runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a error, a stolen base , and a groundout by Breanna Dinkel.

Southeast Community College scored five runs in the fifth inning. Southeast Community College's big inning was driven by a home run by Burkhardt and a single by Borrenpohl.

Dela Boyd earned the win for The Lady Red Devils. She threw three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs, nine hits, and walking zero. Two relievers helped The Lady Red Devils close out the victory. Sierra Thompson threw two and two-thirds innings. Thompson recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for The Lady Red Devils. Logan Runge took the loss for Southeast Community College. She tossed one and two-thirds innings, surrendering one run, one hit, striking out one, and walking one.

Jessica Lusk started the game for Southeast Community College. She tossed five and a third innings, giving up nine runs, 11 hits, and walking zero.

Home runs for Southeast Community College came when Burkhardt homered in the fifth inning and Grabowski homered in the fourth inning.

The Lady Red Devils had 12 hits in the game. Ramos, Winter Henry, Delaney Umholtz, and Wayman each collected multiple hits for The Lady Red Devils. Henry and Ramos all had three hits to lead The Lady Red Devils.

Southeast Community College collected 15 hits. Katie Fisher, Lusk, Burkhardt, Borrenpohl, and Grabowski each collected multiple hits for Southeast Community College.
