The Lady Red Devils Fall In Game Two To Des Monies Area Community College

The Lady Red Devils and Des Monies Area Community College passed the lead back-and-forth on Sunday, but eventually Des Monies Area Community College prevailed 4-3. The game was tied at two with Des Monies Area Community College batting in the top of the fifth when Courtney Gard walked Megan Rushing to drive in a run.

The Lady Red Devils captured the lead in the second inning. With two outs in the second inning Emma Broxterman drove in one run when she singled.

After Des Monies Area Community College scored one run in the top of the sixth, The Lady Red Devils answered with one of their own. The Lady Red Devils then answered when Mallory Roush singled off of Ashley Sicard, driving in one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, The Lady Red Devils tied things up at two. The Lady Red Devils scored one run when Caitlin Burns singled with zero outs in the fourth inning.

Sicard earned the win for Des Monies Area Community College. She went five and a third innings, allowing three runs, nine hits, striking out four, and walking zero. Courtney Gard took the loss for The Lady Red Devils. She threw four and a third innings, giving up three runs, and seven hits.

The Lady Red Devils collected nine hits. Broxterman, Roush, and Winter Henry each collected multiple hits for The Lady Red Devils. Burns, Roush, and Broxterman each drove in one run to lead The Lady Red Devils. The Lady Red Devils didn't commit a single error in the field. Henry had six chances in the field, the most on the team.

Megan Rushing went 1-for-3 at the plate as she led the team with two runs batted in.
