The Lady Red Devils watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 6-4 loss to Lamar State College-Port Arthur on Friday. Lamar State College-Port Arthur scored on a single by Kayla Sheridan in the first inning, a error in the second inning, a single by Savana Guidry in the second inning, and a single by McKenzie Andrus in the second inning.

The Lady Red Devils lost despite out-hitting Lamar State College-Port Arthur 13 to nine.

Lamar State College-Port Arthur took an early lead in the first inning. Kayla Sheridan singled on a 1-0 count count in the first inning, scoring one run.The Lady Red Devils scored three runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Caitlin Burns and a triple by Mallory Roush.In the bottom of the first inning, The Lady Red Devils tied things up at one. With zero outs in the first inning Chelsea Lake drove in one run when she singled.Lamar State College-Port Arthur took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second there was an error, scoring one run, Savana Guidry singled off of Sierra Thompson, driving in two runs, and McKenzie Andrus singled off of Thompson, driving in one run.

Kelsey Stewart earned the win for Lamar State College-Port Arthur. She threw two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs, ten hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Thompson took the loss for The Lady Red Devils. She went seven innings, giving up six runs, nine hits, and striking out three.

The Lady Red Devils had 13 hits in the game. Winter Henry, Emma Broxterman, Roush, Morgan Wayman, and Lake each collected multiple hits for The Lady Red Devils. Lake, Wayman, Roush, and Broxterman all had three hits to lead The Lady Red Devils.

Lamar State College-Port Arthur collected nine hits. Sheridan and Guidry each collected multiple hits for Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Lamar State College-Port Arthur was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Alexis Perez had the most chances in the field with 16.
