The Lady Red Devils smack 3 homers, to top Maplewoods CC, 7-3

Big blasts bring people to their feet, and The Lady Red Devils certainly provided a bunch of entertainment on Monday in Gladstone, MO. Three home runs powered The Lady Red Devils to a 7-3 victory in seven innings over Maplewoods CC.

Home runs for The Lady Red Devils came when Ashley Womack homered in the second inning, Morgan Wayman homered in the sixth inning, and Baileigh Rager homered in the sixth inning.

Ali Morris racked up three RBIs on three hits for The Lady Red Devils. She doubled in the third inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.

Rager got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed three runs over seven innings. Rager struck out three, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

Alexa Pelzer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

The game was never in doubt after the second, as The Lady Red Devils scored one run on a solo home run by Womack.

The Lady Red Devils pushed across three runs in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, The Lady Red Devils scored on a three-run double by Morris, scoring Caitlin Burns, Emmy McManigal and Womack.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the third, Maplewoods CC faced just a 4-1 deficit. An RBI single by Amy Spieler fueled Maplewoods CC's comeback. Finally, Rager induced an inning-ending ground out from Anna McFadden.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fourth, Maplewoods CC faced just a 4-3 deficit. An RBI single by Jenna Holt and a fielder's choice sparked Maplewoods CC's rally. The Lady Red Devils stopped the rally after Rager got Autumn Hughes to ground out.

Wayman's solo home run helped The Lady Red Devils score three runs in the sixth.
