The Lady Red Devils top Independence CC in back-and-forth affair, 5-3

The Lady Red Devils outlasted Independence CC on Saturday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 5-3 win in Iola, KS.

The Lady Red Devils took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. The Lady Red Devils scored on a solo home run by Ashley Womack off Gillian Shafe.

Morgan Wayman racked up two RBIs on one hit for The Lady Red Devils. She homered in the second inning.

Paige Dugger recorded the win for The Lady Red Devils. She tossed 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball. She struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Heather Breslin took the loss for Independence CC. She lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.

In the top of the second, Independence CC grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Independence CC caught fire after Hanna Harris singled. Then Natalie Maddox singled, plating Felicia Ruaro.

After a quick strike from Independence CC, The Lady Red Devils responded with two runs in the second. The Lady Red Devils scored on a two-run home run by Wayman.

The Lady Red Devils put up one run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth. In the fourth, The Lady Red Devils scored on an error, scoring Ali Morris.
