The Lady Red Devils use big fifth inning to beat KCK CC, 13-3

The Lady Red Devils beat KCK CC 13-3 in five innings on Tuesday in Kansas City, KS after an eight-run explosion in the fifth inning.

The Lady Red Devils scored in the fifth on a solo home run by Emmy McManigal, a solo home run by Ashley Womack, an RBI single by Ali Morris, a walk by Alexis Campuzano, a two-run single by McManigal, and a two-run double by Womack.

McManigal racked up three RBIs on three hits for The Lady Red Devils.

Raegan Beckley got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed three runs over five innings. Beckley struck out three, walked one and gave up six hits.

Elizabeth Selmears was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed nine runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out none.

The Lady Red Devils never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on an error and a sacrifice fly by Womack.

The Lady Red Devils built upon its lead with three runs in the second. The inning got off to a hot start when Alana Renshaw singled, bringing home Morris and Sarah Eckart.

Three runs in the bottom of the third helped KCK CC close its deficit to 5-3. A two-run home run by Tiffany Killam and a solo home run by Morgan Oroke gave KCK CC life. Finally, Beckley got Kennedy Rasmussen to fly out to end the threat.
