Morgan Wayman gives The Lady Red Devils late push to beat Ottawa JV, 8-7

Morgan Wayman drove in the go-ahead run to give The Lady Red Devils the lead in the sixth inning, as The Lady Red Devils hung on to beat Ottawa JV 8-7 on Friday.

With the score tied at seven, Wayman came to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home Marissa Lilly.

Ashley Womack had two extra-base hits for The Lady Red Devils. She homered in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Raegan Beckley got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over 4 2/3 innings. Beckley struck out one, walked none and gave up six hits.

Lilly, Baileigh Rager and Womack helped lead The Lady Red Devils. They combined for six hits and four RBIs.

Paige Williams couldn't get it done on the rubber for Ottawa JV, taking a loss. She allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out one.

The Lady Red Devils jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the first. Alana Renshaw got things going for The Lady Red Devils with a single. A single by Lilly then moved Renshaw from first to second. The Lady Red Devils then tacked on more runs when Lilly, Wayman and Womack scored on a three-run double by Rager and Rager scored on a passed ball.

Two Ottawa JV baserunners came all the way around to score in each of the first, third and fifth. In the first, Ottawa JV scored on an error, plating Aryn Smith.

The Lady Red Devils tallied one run in each of the third, fourth and sixth. In the third, The Lady Red Devils scored on a solo home run by Womack.
