Dual-threat carries The Lady Red Devils past Oklahoma Wesleyan JV 9-1

Baileigh Rager carried The Lady Red Devils to a 9-1 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan JV on Thursday in Iola, KS with a strong game at the plate and in the circle.

Rager racked up three RBIs on two hits for The Lady Red Devils. She singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.

Rager's eight strikeouts helped The Lady Red Devils to the victory. Rager allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over five innings.

Everything was working at the plate for the The Lady Red Devils in the third. Oklahoma Wesleyan JV had no answer as The Lady Red Devils scored seven runs. The Lady Red Devils scored in the third on a passed ball, a two-run home run by Rager, an RBI double by Morgan Wayman, a two-run double by Sarah Eckart, and an RBI single by Alana Renshaw.

Taylor Johnson couldn't get it done on the rubber for Oklahoma Wesleyan JV, taking a loss. She allowed nine runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.

The Lady Red Devils didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the second inning when it scored on an RBI single by Rager.

It didn't take long for The Lady Red Devils to respond as it scored one run of its own in the fifth. The Lady Red Devils scored on a passed ball.
