Allen uses big second inning to beat Cottey College, 24-2

A 15-run explosion in the second inning spurred The Lady Red Devils to a 24-2 win in five innings over Cottey College at Nevada, MO on Tuesday.

The Lady Red Devils scored in the second on an RBI double by Sarah Eckart, a sacrifice fly by Marissa Lilly, a groundout by Ashley Womack, an error, a two-run single by Breanna Dinkel, a two-run single by Eckart, an RBI double by Lilly, an RBI double by Morgan Wayman, an RBI triple by Womack, a two-run home run by Alexis Campuzano, and a two-run double by Dinkel.

Wayman racked up three RBIs on two hits for The Lady Red Devils.

Baileigh Rager got the win for The Lady Red Devils thanks to seven strikeouts. Rager allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks over five innings.

The Lady Red Devils easily handled Cottey College pitching as nine hitters combined for 14 hits, 18 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

Mary Atherton was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

The Lady Red Devils went up for good in the first, scoring four runs on two errors and a sacrifice fly by Wayman.
