Lady Red Devils take down 5th ranked Des Moines Area CC with a 6-3 Win

Lady Red Devils and Des Moines Area CC both had scoring chances on Saturday, but it was the Lady Red Devils that were able to capitalize on them and pulled out a 6-3 win at Fort Worth, TX.

Des Moines Area CC got nine hits compared with just seven for the Red Devils, but Des Moines Area CC stranded 11 on base.

Ashley Womack racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Devils. She homered in the first inning.

Allen never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring two runs on a two-run home run by Womack.

Only one Des Moines Area CC run crossed the plate in the top half of the second, making the score 2-1. An RBI double by Ashley Sicard set off Des Moines Area CC rally. Raegan Beckley ended the inning by getting Katie Bell to strike out.

Allen piled on four more runs in the bottom of the third. Emmy McManigal singled, plating Alana Renshaw to start the inning. That was followed up by Mallory Roush's triple, bringing home McManigal, Womack and Alexis Campuzano.

One run in the top of the fourth helped Des Moines Area CC close its deficit to 6-2. A sacrifice fly by Bell fueled Des Moines Area CC's comeback. The Lady Red Devils stopped the rally after Beckley got Claire Dudek to fly out.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Des Moines Area CC faced just a 6-3 deficit. An RBI double by Taylor Creason triggered Des Moines Area CC's comeback. The Des Moines Area CC threat came to an end when Beckley finally got Madison Rasmusson to strike out.
