Lady Red Devils drop Ottawa JV 6-5 behind Morgan Wayman's early single

Lady Red Devils jumped on Ottawa JV early on its way to a 6-5 win on Tuesday at Iola, KS in seven innings, scoring four runs in the first inning.

Lady Red Devils scored in the first on an RBI single by Morgan Wayman, a two-run home run by Ashley Womack, and a solo home run by Baileigh Rager.

Lady Red Devils hit three home runs in the win. Additional home runs for Lady Red Devils came when Mykenna Sharp-Hadl homered in the second inning.

Lady Red Devils' Rager, Sharp-Hadl and Womack combined for six hits and five RBIs.

One run in the top of the second helped Ottawa JV close its deficit to 4-1. An RBI single by Jessica Rymer triggered Ottawa JV's comeback. The Ottawa JV threat came to an end when Raegan Beckley finally got Mica Michand to strike out.

After a quick strike from Ottawa JV, Lady Red Devils responded with one run in the second. Lady Red Devils scored on a solo home run by Sharp-Hadl.

After pushing across three runs in the top of the sixth, Ottawa JV faced just a 5-4 deficit. An RBI double by Hannah Marshall, , and a solo home run by Savannah Holland sparked Ottawa JV's rally. Rager ended the inning by getting Aryn Smith to ground out.

A one-run seventh inning helped bring Ottawa JV within one. An RBI single by Sarah Shatford fueled Ottawa JV's comeback. But, Rager got Rymer to ground out to end the game.
