Red Devils Open Outdoor Season at Oklahoma Baptist University T&F Invitational

Shawnee, OK. – Saturday March 26, 2016 the Men Red Devils track & field team competed in their first meet of the 2015-2016 outdoor season at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee Oklahoma.

The Men Red Devils started the track meet off to a good start with Carlton Tarpley and Ceaser Stephens competing in Long Jump and placed 12th and 17th out of 21 competitors. Stephens also placed 1st in the Men Triple Jump qualifying for nationals with a new personal of 14.52meters/47ft'7inches.

On the track Ke'Voughn Manning ran a new personal best of 49.08 in the 400 Meter Dash, Christopher Martin also new personal best of 49.42 in the 400 Meter Dash, Ka'ven Berry ran 49.81 in the 400 Meter Dash also ran 22.24 in the 200 Meter Dash, Carlton Tarpley ran 51.43 in the 400 Meter Dash and 22.64 in the 200 Meter Dash.

Keshon McFadden and Brandun Douglas opened up their season running the hurdle events. McFadden ran a new personal best of 14.69 in the 110 Meter Hurdles which also qualified him into the national meet, later that day McFadden and Douglas ran the 400 Meter Hurdles McFadden ran 56.33 while Douglas finished with the time of 1:05.13.

Carlos James, Phillip Lagemann, Ricardo Banuelos and Pedro Montoya return to the track since Indoor Nationals. James ran the 800 Meter run with the time of 1:54.02, Lagemann finished the 1500 with the time of 4:06.07, Banuelos ran a time of 4:13.80 and Montoya ran the run the time of 4:14.34.

Due to technical problems, some of the team's results are still not posted but overall the Red Devils opened up the season with several members running and jumping new personal best throughout the meet. The Red Devils Track Team will split up this weekend with half competing at San Francisco Distance Carnival in San Francisco, CA and other half at Emporia State Relays in Emporia, KS.
