Doug Desmarteau is in his 12th season as the men's head soccer coach and in his 3rd year as the Athletic Director at Allen. He is a nationally licensed coach and has been coaching and playing competitive soccer for over 25 years. Before coming to Iola he was the head Varsity soccer coach for Manhattan High School for five years. While at MHS he compiled a record of 49 wins and 19 losses. The team captured three regional titles and one I-70 league championship. He was named Central Region Coaches Association Class 6A Coach of the year twice. He was also the Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Little Apple Soccer Club for 5 years. He is currently on the Kansas, Nevada, and Alaska State coaching staffs and is an instructor for coaching education in all three states. He has been head coach for the 84, 86, 87, and 89 Kansas state ODP teams.

Doug and his wife Nikki reside in Iola with their three children, Harper, Haidyn and son Landon.
