Men's Soccer Defeats Ottawa

The Men’s Soccer Team picked up their first win on the season, in their home opener against Ottawa Jv. Even though Ottawa wasn’t the biggest test for the team, we played beautifully and we needed this tune up game before our upcoming match against Cowley on Tuesday. The guys had a strong start, with Antonio Fiallos scoring within the first three minutes, with the assist coming from Daniel Guardado. It was only 4 minutes later when Sami Sabrah finished a penalty kick to put the Devils up 2-0. From there on the Devils controlled the entire first half and scoring two more goals. Austin George scored the three goals for the devils with 19 minutes left in the first half, with the assist coming from Edgar Castanada. Victor Nwankwo scored the final goal of the half with only 30 second left, from a perfect through ball from Junior Galvan. The Red Devils came out in the second half a little lackadaisical allowing Ottawa to get their only shot on goal, but the guys pulled it back together when Missael Estrada finished the second penalty on the day to put the Red Devils up 5-0. Junior Galvan put the icing on the cake with his first goal of the season, with two minutes left in the game. Frank Delgado didn’t have much action during the game with only recording one save, but he picked up the first shut out of the season for the Red Devils.
