Allen Loses In OT at Hesston

Allen Men's soccer travelled to Hesston on Saturday and lost in overtime in a game that the Red Devils dominated.  The Red Devils came out firing in the first 10 mins and had 6 shots on goal that the Larks keeper came up big on, two of them he saved while lying on his back.  In the 15th minute the Larks got on the board when they were awarded a free kick outside the box and were able to put it in the net.  Ten minutes later Hesston was awarded a penalty kick after a foul on the edge of the box, that they were able to finish.  The rest of the half the Red Devils controlled possession and the chances on goal, at the half the score was 2-0 Larks. 

The Devils outshot Hesston 18-4 in the first half.  In the second half Allen came out confident and energetic.  After about 6 missed opportunities Yuki Ikezaki was able to finish a ball played to him by Thiago Fernandes to put the score to 2-1.  Just 3 minutes later Thiago got into the box again and was going to goal, when he was fouled and awarded a penalty kick.  Ikezaki stepped up and buried it in the corner of the goal, the rest of regulation Allen created multiple chances and couldn't find the net. 

In the 3rd minute of overtime, Hesston was awarded a corner kick that they headed home to win the game.  Allen ended the game outshooting the Larks 37-8 and controlling 80 percent of the possession.  They will look to get back on track against Southeast on Saturday in Beatrice, Ne. at 4:30 pm.
