Allen Loses Tough Match to Crowder

The Men's Soccer Team lost to Crowder College 0-1 Saturday afternoon in a home non-conference matchup. This was the first game for the Red Devils in over a week and that seemed hurt them at the beginning of the game. Crowder had most of the opportunities on goal in the first 15 minutes of the game. Allen started to calm down towards the middle of the first half and was started to have more possession of the ball. The Red Devils had several good opportunities at the end of the first half, but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.

The second half was a tough one for both teams. There were a lot of fouls called, that slowed the game down and didn't let either team get control of the game. Midway into the second half, Crowder got a penalty kick called for them. The Crowder forward stepped up to kick the ball and he hit the post, keeping the score at 0-0. After that, Allen started seeing more chances on goal, but just couldn't capitalize on their opportunities. It was a close game the whole way, but Crowder finished their opportunity they had for the only goal of the game. Allen resumes conference play on Thursday, when they will host Johnson County.

Allen Men's Soccer overall record is now 3-9-1, and a conference record of 1-5-1.
