Allen Men Fall at Rival Neosho

The Men's Soccer Team lost a close match to their rival Neosho 2-1. It was a very high intense game right from the start. Neosho came out and scored with in the first five minutes of the game. Allen wascaught off guard by how fast Neosho's outside forwards were. After Allen figured out Neosho's playing style, they didn't have too many opportunities after the first goal. Allen also had their opportunities in the first half to equalize the game, but just couldn't find the final ball to put someone in on goal.

After halftime the Red Devils caught Neosho off guard and had three one on ones with the goal keeper, but unfortunately couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. The Red devils have struggled to score goals this year when needed the most, but the guys kept on fighting and didn't give up. Midway through the second half Neosho had a rare counter attack that got past the Allen defense and Neosho's forward scored the goal. The Red Devils never gave up and kept fighting. Allen had several opportunities right after Neosho's second goal to make the game a little closer, but didn't capitalize on any of them. The Red Devils hit the cross bar and had a shot that rolled across the goal line, and all of the Red Devil players on the field thought it was a goal because they thought the ball crossed the goal line, but the officials did not count it as a goal.

With about six minutes left Antonio Fiallos had a shot opportunity on goal, which the goal keeper stopped, but Ryan Munch followed the shot and scored his second goal of the season to make it 1-2 in Neosho's favor. With less than five minutes left in the game Allen was still putting the pressure on Neosho, and Allen received a questionable offside called on a goal that would have equalized the gamel.

Allen Men's Soccer overall record is now 2-7-1, and a Jayhawk conference record of 0-4-1. Next game is Saturday September 30th in Iola against Cowley.
