Allen Loses Tough Match to Johnson

The Allen Men's Soccer Team lost on Saturday to Johnson CC 1-2. It was a physical and tough game right from the start for both teams. Both teams had opportunities to score early in the game, but just couldn't put one in the back of the net. The first goal wasn't scored until 5 minutes left in the first half. Johnson played a cross into the box and one of Allen's defenders tried to clear it, but it went straight to a Johnson player, and he took advantage of his opportunity and scored the opening goal of the game.

After halftime the Red Devils were the best team in the second half with only allowing Johnson one shot on goal the whole half. With 15 minutes left in the game, the Red Devils had a free kick right at the corner of the 18 yard box. Wilmer Canales played a beautiful cross that found Ryan Munch's head and he did the rest. That was Ryan's first goal of the season and that brought life back into the game. Unfortunately Allen took their foot off the gas and not even four minutes later, allowed Johnson their only shot on goal the whole second half. The Johnson player beat a couple of Allen's defender and hit a bullet from about 20 yards out to put Johnson back up by one. The Red Devils weren't finished, as still kept fighting to find that equalizer, but were unsuccessful. Alan Ibarra recorded four total saves, which came in the first half.

Allen drops to 2-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in conference. Next game is Wednesday at home against Neosho.
