Head Coach Andy Shaw completed his 10th season as head coach at Allen Community College in the 2021-22 season. The Red Devils started the season 3-3 in the early going, but from there Allen went on to have a very special season and made history along the way. After the 3-3 start Allen would win 17 of their next 18 games, and jumped into the NJCAA D2 National Polls. Allen started out 8-0 in KJCCC Conference games before stumbling on the road at Highland for Allen's only Conference loss of the season. The Red Devils won their next 5 Conference games, including back to back wins against Johnson County who was ranked in the top 5 in the nation. First, the Red Devils defeated Johnson County in Iola by the score of 75-71. A few days later, Allen had to travel to Johnson County for a chance at the outright KJCCC Conference Title, and Allen would take advantage of the opportunity and defeated the Cavaliers 60-54. This win secured the first KJCCC Conference Title since 1989 for Allen Community College, and the Red Devils finished with a KJCCC Conference record of 13-1. The Red Devils entered the Region VI Tournament as the overall #1 seed, and won three consecutive games in the tournament to win the Region VI Championship. Allen defeated Labette, Neosho, and Johnson County all for a third time on the season to earn the automatic bid to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament. This was the first time in school history that Allen Community College received a bid to the National Tournament in Men's Basketball. The Red Devils would go 1-2 at the National Tournament. Allen defeated Florida Gateway at the National Tournament, and had losses to Lakeland Community College and Parkland College. Allen finished the season ranked #14 in the NJCAA D2 National Polls. Shaw was named Coach of the Year in the KJCCC, and also Plains District Coach of the Year (Division 2).

Due to COVID-19 the regular season was shortned to just 22 games in the 2020-21 season. The Red Devils started the season winning 2 of their first 3 games, but would go on to struggle the rest of the season. Towards the end of the season Allen was able to rattle of 3 consecutive wins over Cloud, Independence, and Neosho. Allen was able to end the losing skid, as Freshman point guard Nickevius Whittick sank a buzzer beater on the road to defeat Cloud County. Next, the Red Devils defeated the Pirates of Independence on a buzzer beater, and followed that win up with a 25 point route of their rival Neosho Panthers to push the win streak to 3. The Red Devils finished the season 6-17 overall.

Shaw helped guide the Red Devils to another winning record at 16-15 in the 2019-20 season. This season was filled with ups and downs, as Allen started the season 1-4, but then rattled off 11 consecutive wins. Allen started off KJCCC play with an impressive 7 game win streak against the Western side of the conference, including a statement win over the Hutchinson Blue Dragons who were ranked #5 in the nation at the time on their home floor. The winning streak spanned nearly 2 months long, and earned the Red Devils a national ranking of #22 in the NJCAA top 25. Allen also spent several weeks receiving votes to be ranked in the national poll. During the win streak Coach Shaw earned his 100th career victory at Allen Community College on November 30th, 2019 against Garden City. The Red Devils did not finish the season as strong as Coach Shaw hoped, as the KJCCC East was very tough as usual.

The 2018-19 season was a bounce back year for the Red Devils under head coach Andy Shaw. The previous season struggles were erased as Allen got back to its winning ways. Coach Shaw guided the Red Devils to a blazing start of the season as the Red Devils were 10-1 and then 11-3 early in the year. This was the best start to a season in Coach Shaw’s tenure at Allen. Some highlight wins included NOC Tonkawa, State Fair, and Moberly. The impressive start earned some national acknowledgment as the Red Devils were receiving votes to be ranked in the NJCAA top 25. The second half of the season was tough as always in the KJCCC, and the Red Devils had their struggles, but Allen would cap off the season the right way with a 3 game winning streak that included wins over rival Neosho County, and the Independence Pirates on the road. The Red Devils finished the season with a winning record of 16-15 for the season.

In the 2017-18 season the Red Devils finished 10-21 overall on the season, and 8-18 in the Jayhawk Conference. Coach Shaw knotched several signature wins headlined by defeating Barton on the road and also defeating Hutchinson later in the season. The 68-65 win at Barton County was the first time in program history that the Red Devils defeated the Cougars in Great Bend, and was also the first time Shaw has defeated Barton as a head coach. The win over the Hutchinson Blue Dragons was also a first for Shaw as the Red Devils held on for a 87-86 victory in the final moments.

In the 2016-17 season the Red Devils finished the season with an overall record of 13-18, and finished with a record of 10-16 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. The Red Devils had two sophomores earn All-Conference selections, with DaRon Mims earning First Team All- Conference, and Quentin Blaue earning Honorable Mention All-Conference in the KJCCC. From the 2016-17 team, 6 sophomores have earned scholarships to continue playing basketball at 4 year universities.

In the 2015-16 season, Coach Shaw led the Red Devils to their third consecutive winning season, as the Red Devils once again finished the season with a record of 16-15. This marked the third season the Red Devils finished at 16-15. Jermaine Long led the way for the Red Devils during this stretch, and earned a scholarship to attend East Tennessee State University.

In the 2014-15 season, Shaw led the Red Devils to a winning season with an overall record of 16-15. The Allen Men’s Basketball program finished 1st place in the Region VI Jayhawk East Division 1 and earned a first round Bye in the Region VI Tournament. That season Allen also finished 3rd overall in the Jayhawk East Conference. The Red Devils were led by Courtney Stockard and Josh Sweet, who were a dynamic combination all year. Sweet continued his career at D2 Nebraska Kearney, while Stockard pursued his dream at the D1 level at St. Bonaventure University in the Atlantic 10 Conferece.

The 2013-14 season was much improved for Coach Shaw and the Red Devils. After his first year struggles as head coach, Shaw was able to turn the program around and finished with a winning season of 16-15. The Red Devils won 4 of their first 5 games of the season, and would go on to sweep the regular season series against Hesston, KCK, Johnson, Fort Scott, and Neosho County.

The 2012-13 season was Coach Shaw's first season leading the Red Devil Program. Shaw earned his first win as a college head coach in Trenton, Missouri on November 3rd, 2012 as Allen defeated North Central Missouri College 72-68. Coach Shaw and the Red Devils would struggle though the first season, but wins over Fort Scott and rival Neosho towards the end of the season would lay the foundation for future successes for Coach Shaw and the Red Devils.

Shaw was a member of the Oklahoma State University Basketball team for two seasons under coach Sean Sutton. Shaw’s role changed after suffering a career ending injury. Shaw decided to begin his path towards a coaching career as he served as a student assistant for one season and a graduate assistant for 2 seasons under coach Travis Ford at Oklahoma State University, while also working on his master's degree in Educational Psychology.

Shaw went to Oklahoma State from Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma and was a 4 year starter on the Varsity team. Shaw was named Mr. Santa Fe High School following his senior year. He was invited to participate in the Jim Thorpe All-Star contest and was named the game's Most Valuable Player. While in high school, Shaw was teammates with high-profile athlete’s Ekpe Udoh, the 6th pick in the first round of the 2010 NBA draft to the Golden State Warriors, and Obi Muonelo who attended Oklahoma State University to play basketball. Coaching runs in the family as his father Bill Shaw was an assistant coach for his high school team in Edmond. After Andy finished high school, his father accepted an assistant coaching position at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma.

A member of the Class 6A Oklahoma state champions in 2005 and a state semi-finalist in 2006, Shaw was recruited by Samford University, Binghamton University, and several other schools, but elected to join the Cowboys as a preferred walk-on.

Both his mother and father attended Oklahoma State University. He earned his bachelor's degree in health promotions in December of 2009, and completed his master's degree in educational psychology in the summer of 2011.
