Allen Wins KJCCC D2 Conference Title

The Allen Men's basketball team earned the KJCCC D2 Conference title with a 60-54 win at Johnson County in the last regular season game of the year. The Red Devils beat Johnson County twice in four days to earn the outright title and finished with a Conference record of 13-1. The game was tight for the entire contest. The game saw 9 lead changes, and the biggest lead for Allen was 6 points, while the largest lead for Johnson County was 4 points. 

Johnson County hurt Allen on the offensive glass in the first half, as they had 11 offensive rebounds and 13 second chance points, many of them coming in the first 10 minutes of action. The Red Devils and Cavaliers both struggled finding any offensive flow in the first half, as Allen shot 29% from the floor and Johnson County shot 21%. Johnson County would go into halftime with a one point lead at 25-24. The two teams would trade baskets for the majority of the second half as neither team could pull away with a significant lead. The Red Devils were up by 6 midway through the half, but a 5-0 run by Johnson quickly evened things out. 

In the final minutes Zabriel Boozer knocked down several key shots to keep the lead for the Red Devils. Allen's defense would tighten up and did not allow a made field goal for Johnson County in the final 2 minutes of action. 

Ed Wright led Allen in scoring with 15 points on 6-16 from the floor. Zabriel Boozer finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Cedric Rollerson finished with 8 points and 8 assists. This win marks the first Conference Title for the Allen Men's Basketball program since 1989. Allen is now 24-5 on the season and ranked #14 in the latest NJCAA poll. 

The Red Devils will cut down the nets in the Allen Gym at 3:00 pm on Friday February 25th at 3:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend to help celebrate this accomplishment.
