The Allen Men's Basketball team improved to 13-4 on the season, and 2-0 in KJCCC play with a 68-53 win over Hesston College. Allen jumped out to an early lead, as the Red Devil defense was relentless in the first half. Allen was up 13-9 in the early going, and then got several defense stops in a row and forced Hesston into quick shots or turnovers, which led to Allen grabbing a large advantage. Allen would go into the halftime break with a 35 to 16 advantage, as they held the Larks to just 6-25 from the floor for the entire half.

In the second half the lead hovered around 19-20 points, but the Larks never surrendered. They hung tough, and even cut the lead down to 10 points late in the game. Hesston was able to get to the free-throw line 21 times in the second half, and Allen became sloppy with the ball in the final few minutes which led to some easy scores for the Larks.

In the end, the Allen defense was too much for Hesston and Allen earned their second straight conference win. Scottie Turner had a solid game with 16 points, and 8 rebounds. Cedric Rollerson also reached double figures with 13 points on 5 of 10 from the floor.

Allen is now receiving votes to be ranked in the NJCAA National Poll. Next, Allen will host the Highland Scotties on Wednesday at 8:00 pm.
