The Allen Red Devils finished off their trip to Dallas, TX with a 85-55 route of Brookhaven College. After surviving a close battle the night before where both teams struggled to score, Allen was much better on the offensive end against Brookhaven. The Red Devils were able to jump out to a early lead, but when Allen went to the bench Brookhaven made a run of their own to grab a lead 13-12. After a quick timeout and Coach Shaw putting the starters back in the Red Devils once again regained the lead for good. Allen held a 8 point advantage at the half time break 33-25.
In the second half the Red Devils would quickly increase their lead to double digits and never looked back. Allen's full court press was able to force Brookhaven into turnovers which led to easy points for Allen. Ed Wright led the way in scoring once again for Allen with 13 points. Ahmed Mahgoub knocked down two 3 point attempts early in the game and he finished with 11 points for the game. Christian Arndt also provided a spark off the bench with 10 points all coming in the second half. Freshman point guard Brandon Lawrence also reached double figures with 10 points.
All 16 Red Devils who suited up for the game saw action in the 30 point win over Brookhaven. This win pushes Allen's overall record to 5-3. Next, Allen will match up with Baker University JV on Tuesday November 23rd at 8:00 pm here in Iola.
