The Allen Men's Basketball team bounced back from a tough loss on Wednesday as they defeated Fort Scott 81-67. In the first half Allen controlled the lead most of the half, but Fort Scott kept things close for the majority of the half. The Red Devils would close the half with a 5 point lead by the score of 34-29. Early in the second half the Red Devils would strike and extended the lead to double digits in large part to Freddie Word and Tyren Shelley.

Word would finish the game as the leading scorer with 30 points on 12 of 17 shooting from the floor. Tyren Shelley knocked down a pair of triples to help Allen extend their lead in the second half. Fort Scott did not quit fighting as their full court press gave the Red Devils some problems in the second half, but Allen was also able to get to the rim for some easy baskets, and also shot the ball well from the 3 point line (10-21).

Amadou "Shaq" Traore had his best game in a Red Devil jersey with a big double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. This win moves Allen to 1-1 on the season. Allen will open KJCCC play on Wednesday in Iola as Seward County will make the trip from Liberal. Game time is set for 8:00 PM.
