Red Devils Defeat Dodge City to Close Out Semester

The Allen Red Devils finished the first semester with a 1-1 split over Sunday and Monday. Sunday night the Red Devils fell 76-70 to Colby in game where Allen struggled to score the ball. The Red Devils missed several easy layups and couldn't connect from the outside. Allen trailed the Trojans by 17 with 12 minutes, but fought back to within 4 points in the closing minutes. The comeback came up short, and Allen lost consecutive games for the first time this season. 

Luckily, the Red Devils were able to bounce back and earn a solid road win over Dodge City 90-76. Allen played much better on the offensive end. The Red Devils got off to hot start shooting as Trez Hankins and Perry Carroll each made several 3's to give the early momentum to the Red Devils. Allen would lead by as many as 12 in the first half, but Dodge City closed on a run to cut the lead to 8 (48-40). 

Allen continued their solid play in the second half and quickly pushed the lead into double figures. Allen would go on to lead by as many as 20 points midway through the second half. Dodge City didn't quit, as the slowly cut into the Allen lead. Dodge City would get as close as 6 points in the later stages of the game, but Allen closed out the win at the free-throw line. 

Allen was balanced scoring as 5 guys reached double digits scoring. Perry Carroll led the way with 25 points on 4 of 9 shooting from 3. Carroll also had 4 assists and 2 steals. Malik Hardmon and Trez Hankins each scored 16. Hankins made 4 3's on the night and Hardmon grabbed 8 rebounds. Devonire Glass had his best outing as a Red Devil with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Wesley Anderson Jr. had 13 points on 9-10 from the foul line. 

This win closes out the Fall semester for the Red Devils and improved Allen to 11-3 on the season and 3-2 in KJCCC play. Allen will return to action January 5th against Hutchinson at home in Iola.
