Allen Takes Down State Fair

The Allen Men's basketball team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 74-72 win over State Fair CC on Friday evening. Both teams started sluggish, but midway through the first half of play the Red Devils gained a lead and took a 45-36 lead into the half time break. In the first half Allen shot 50% from the floor (14-28). 

In the second half Allen was able to maintain the lead in the early going, but State Fair made a push and cut into the Red Devil lead.  The game saw 19 total lead changes and 9 ties, as the final 10 minutes were back and forth with both team leading by a couple. 

Allen was able to get some crucial defensive stops late in the game, and also converted on 30 of 35 attempts from the free throw line, while State Fair only shot 15-29 from the charity stripe. 

Darius Love once again led the Red Devils in scoring with 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Malik Hardmon has a solid game with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Perry Carroll scored 11 points and dished out 5 assists. Wesley Anderson Jr. and CJ Parks each scored 9. 

Allen will return to action Saturday for a 5:00 PM matchup with #11 in the nation Moberly Area CC.
