Allen Men Defeat KCK On The Road

The Allen Men's Basketball team won their first true road game of the season with a 84-64 route of the KCK Blue Devils. Allen trailed 2-0 after KCK scored on their opening possession, and then Darius Love made a 3 to get the Red Devils going and Allen never lost the lead for the rest of the game. The Red Devils extended their early lead to 11-4 but KCK fought tough and kept within striking distance for the first half. In the final seconds of the first half Allen led by just 6 points as they wound down the clock. Perry Carroll drove the lane and kicked to a wide open Trez Hankins who nailed the 3 to extend the lead to 9 at the break.

Allen had possession to start the second half, and executed a lob play to Darius Love to get the early momentum. The Red Devils would quickly push their lead to 20 points, and KCK would never seriously threaten to make a come back.

Allen was balanced in scoring as all 5 starters reached double figures. Darius Love led the way with 23 points on 8-11 shooting (4-5 from 3). Perry Carroll had 17 points and also dished our 7 assists. Malik Hardmon had 14 points, and Jamaal Clifton and Nathan Williams each scored 10.

The Red Devils are now 5-1 on the season. Allen will travel to Sedalia, MO this Friday and Saturday for matchups with State Fair CC and Moberly CC.
