Allen Men Split Games at the Tonkawa Classic

The Allen Men's Basketball team split a pair of games over the weekend at the NOC Tonkawa Classic. On Friday night Allen lost to NOC Tonkawa 101-88. The Red Devils shot poorly from the free-throw line, missing 20 attempts that could have kept the game closer. Tonkawa did a good job disrupting the Allen offense and forced a lot of turnovers for easy points. Late in the game the Red Devils cut into the big lead several times, but never seriously threatened to come back and steal a win.

On Saturday, the Red Devils defeated NOC Enid 90-74. For the majority of the first half Allen trailed Enid by a few points, but the Red Devils closed the half on a run and took a 1 point lead into the break. In the second half it was all Allen. The Red Devils quickly extended their lead to double digits and never looked back. Midway through the half, Allen went up by 21 for their largest lead of the game. Enid would continue to fight and got as close as 12 points, but Allen shot the ball much better from the free throw line to close out the game. Stats were not provided, but Malik Hardmon led the way for the Red Devils with 27 points, and Darius Love scored 23 (from official score book).

The Allen Men are now 4-1 on the season. Next game is Tuesday night at KCK.
