Allen Men Win 3rd Straight Conference Game

The Allen Men's Basketball team won its 3rd straight conference game Saturday night, defeating Cloud County 93-82. In the early going Cloud held a 3 point lead, but that didn't last long as Allen quickly took the lead and held on for the remainder of the night. Cloud kept the contest close and tied the game up at 30-30 with a few minutes left in the first half. The Red Devils would go on a 6-0 run from there, and took a 46-38 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half Cloud came out quickly and scored the first 6 points after a few Red Devil turnovers. Coach Shaw called a timeout to regroup, and Allen settled in and regained the momentum. The second half swung back and forth with both teams making mini runs, but Allen never surrendered their lead. Allen took advantage of Clouds press and got to the free throw line often. The Red Devils shot 80.5% from the charity stripe (33-41). Freshman point guard Perry Carroll shot 18 free throws himself and made 14. With about 3 minutes left in the contest Allen made the final run to seal the road victory. Allen's largest lead was 14 points with under a minute left to play.

Tyler Williams continued his hot streak, scoring 32 points on 4-7 from the 3 point line and 10-12 from the free throw line. Jamaal Clifton had one of his best games as a Red Devil with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Perry Carroll also scored 18 points and dished out 4 assists.

Allen will return home for the final home game of the season and Sophomore night on Monday for a 8:00 PM tip-off vs Pratt.
