The Allen Men lost 90-65 to Butler County Wednesday night. The final score is not indicative of how close the game was for the majority of the contest. Allen got out to a quick start in the first 5 minutes of the game and had an 11-6 lead, but then the Red Devils went on a big slump shooting the ball and Butler went on a 15-0 run. Allen would keep battling in the first half and cut the Butler lead to just 3 points at half time, 30-33.
In the second half Allen struggled to get defensive stops as Butler shot 24-38 from the floor (63.2%). Jordan Marshall led all scorers with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Tyler Williams was the only other Red Devil in double figures scoring with 17 points as he connected on 3 of 7 from the 3 point line.
The Red Devils will return home for a Jayhawk Conference matchup against nationally ranked (#7) Barton County on Saturday afternoon for a 4:00 PM tipoff.
