Allen Loses Wild Road Game

The Allen Men's Basketball team lost a wild game at Colby Wednesday night 85-93. The Red Devils had another slow start to the game as they shot just 24% in the first half of play. The Red Devils had 12 first half turnovers which did not allow them to gain any rhythm in the first half of play. Even with the sloppy start, the Red Devils only trailed Colby by 9 points at the halftime break (24-33).

In the second half Allen was much more effective on the offensive end, shooting 58% for the half and scored 61 points, but they weren't good enough on the defensive end as Colby scored 60 points in the second half. Allen's biggest deficit came with 13 minutes left in the second half, as the Red Devils found themselves down by 20 after consecutive 3's by Colby. The Red Devils did not give up, and actually made things interesting late in the game. Allen trimmed the Colby lead down to just 3 points with 3 minutes left to go and gave themselves a chance to steal a win on the road, but unfortunately came up short on the comeback attempt.

Tyler Williams led all scorers for the game with 21 points on 8 of 13 shoots and 3 of 7 from the 3 point line. Jordan Marshall scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Perry Carroll scored 14 points and connected on all 8 of his free-throw attempts. Jacob Patterson also reached double digits scoring with 12 points. The Red Devils are now 6-14 on the season and 4-12 in the KJCCC. Allen will host Garden City on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
