Allen Men Lose To Rival

The Allen Men's Basketball team lost to their rival Neosho Wednesday night by the score of 56-79. The Red Devils played decent early in the game, but were unable to put it all together for 40 minutes. Allen's struggles on the offensive end continued as they only shot 32.1% for the game and only made 18 field goals for the contest.

Despite the poor play, at the end of the first half Allen was only trailing Neosho by 10 points (27-37). In the early minutes of the second half Allen was able to cut the deficit to just 4 points and seemed to gain momentum, until Neosho knocked down back to back 3 pointers to push their lead back up to double digits. From that point Allen was unable to make any type of comeback to close the gap. Allen also struggled rebounding the basketball, as they were out-rebounded by Neosho by 12.

The Red Devils were led in scoring by freshman Jamaal Clifton with 13 points on 4-9 shooting. Clifton also grabbed 5 rebounds. Tyler Williams was the only other Red Devil to reach double digits scoring 12 points, as he connected on 4-8 from the 3 point line.

The Red Devils are now 2-4 on the season, and 0-2 in Jayhawk Conference play. The Red Devils will host Colby on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM.
