Allen Wins Ugly Game Over Oklahoma Wesleyan

The Allen Red Devils won a close game Wednesday night in their last non-conference matchup over Oklahoma Wesleyan University JV 93-82. Allen dominated almost every single category on the stat sheet, but the game remained close due to Allen's inability to connect from the 3 point line. Allen finished the game going 0-14 from the 3 point line. The Red Devils got out to an early lead, but once Allen went to the bench the Eagles were able to fight back and keep it close in the first half. The Red Devils took just a 5 point lead into the halftime break.

Early in the second half it appeared like Allen was going to run away with the game, as Allen pushed the 5 point halftime lead to 21 points in a very short period of time. The Eagles from Oklahoma Wesleyan responded once again when Allen went to its bench. Wesleyan got the game to within 3 points in the final 7 minutes, before Allen made a late push and got some defensive stops to earn the victory.

Allen was led in scoring by Jordan Marshall who scored 21 points on 9 of 18 shooting. Marshall also grabbed 7 rebounds. Darius Love scored 17 points on 7 of 13 shooting, and also grabbed 8 rebounds. Other Red Devils in double figures scoring were: Ahmad Winston (13), Tyler Williams (12), and Jamaal Clifton (11).

The Red Devils (2-2 overall) will make their conference debut on Saturday here in Iola at 4:00 PM against the Coffeyville Red Ravens.
