Allen Men Win Home Opener

The Allen Men's Basketball team won their home opener Wednesday night 96-67 over Ottawa University JV. The Red Devils got off to a slow start, as they trailed Ottawa for much of the first 10 minutes of play. Midway through the first half, the Red Devils made a run and took the lead for good. Jordan Marshall had a strong showing in his first game, scoring 27 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Marshall connected on 11 of his 15 shots for the game, including going 4 for 5 from the 3 point line. Jacob Patterson was the only other Red Devil in double figures, scoring 16 points on 7 of 9 shooting.

All 13 of Allen's players saw action in the first game of the season. Allen shot 45% from the floor as a team for the game, and also shot 39% from the 3 point line (12-31). The Red Devils will return to action this weekend for the Red Devil Classic as they face Labette on Friday night and NOC Tonkawa on Saturday night. Both games will be at 7:00 PM.
