Allen Win's Their 4th Straight Home Conference Game

Allen Men's Basketball won their 4th straight home conference game Wednesday night, defeating Coffeyville by the score of 94-85. The Red Devils got off to another great start at home, and were led by Jermaine Long who had a career night with 41 points. Long was on fire from the 3 point line and finished the game going 10 of 16 from the beyond the arc. Long also distributed the basketball once Coffeyville began keying in on him on the defensive end. Long finished the game with 6 assists to go along with his big scoring night.

 

Allen's pressure defense was able to keep Coffeyville off balance for much of the night, and allowed Allen to go on big runs to keep a comfortable lead for much of the game. Coffeyville did not surrender though, and made the final couple of minutes interesting. Allen would hang on the to lead and earned a big conference win.

 

Darnell Jones-Bowie continued his strong play as of late, scoring 16 points and dishing out 5 assists. DaRon Mims also reached double figures with 13 points and 4 steals. As Jermaine Long stole the show for much of the night, all members of the team were big in securing the victory for the Red Devils. The Allen fans, and in particular, the student section was great all night and made a big difference for the Red Devils.

 

Allen improved to 13-11 overall on the season, and is now 5-9 in conference play. Allen will travel to Ottawa University on Saturday for a non-conference matchup, and then Allen will return home for a big conference game Wednesday February 10th for a showdown with Pratt Community College.
