Red Devils Come Up Short

Allen Men's Basketball lost Wednesday night's conference matchup at Pratt CC by the score of 87-76. Allen struggled for much of the night shooting the basketball and never found a good rhythm offensively. Allen played scrappy and never let the game get out of arm's length, but just did not have enough fire power to keep up with Pratt. Pratt started the game on a 10-0 run and never surrendered the lead. Allen would cut into the deficit several times, but could not get enough defensive stops to really challenge Pratt.

At halftime Allen came out with more energy and kept the game close, but in the end the Red Devils came up short. Allen was led in scoring by DaRon Mims with 19 points on 7 of 12 shooting from the floor. Mims also grabbed 3 rebounds and forced 3 steals. Jermaine Long struggled from the floor, but was still able to score 18 points for Allen. Jameel Henson continued his solid stretch of games, and earned a double-double at the end of the night with 11 points on 5 of 8 shooting, and grabbing 11 rebounds. Darnell Jones-Bowie also reached double figures scoring with 12 points, and dished out 4 assists.

Allen will return to action Saturday afternoon with a home game against Cowley at 4:00 PM. Allen drops to 10-9 on the season overall.
