Men fall short at Coffeyville

Allen Men's Basketball lost Wednesday night at Coffeyville by the score of 95-85. It was a wild game, but a good game for most of the game. Allen came out strong in the first half and led for the majority of the half. Coffeyville was able to make a run and tie the score at half time 36 to 36. Allen did a great job in the first half of defending the 3 point line, and forced Coffeyville into just 1 of 5 shooting from 3 in the first half of play.

In the second half, things got interesting. The lead swung back and forth, but Coffeyville would go on an extended run. Coffeyville was able to bump their lead to 21 points with 7 minutes to play in the game. Allen did not quit, and actually went on a huge run of their own, cutting the deficit to 3 points with 3 minutes. Allen's pressure defense was able to cause fits for Coffeyville, but the run came up just a bit short. Allen played hard all night and gave themselves a chance to win in the final minutes.

Allen was led in scoring by DaRon Mims with 20 points. Jermaine Long scored 14 points, Jameel Henson scored 12, and Darnell Jones-Bowie scored 11 points and had 6 assists.

Allen is on their Bye week, and will return to action next Wednesday at Pratt CC.
