Allen ended their non-conference portion of the schedule with a 87-66 win over Labette CC. Fortunately Allen was able to get to the free throw line 36 times and converted 25 of the attempts (25-36 – 69.4%), while Labette finished 4-7 (57.1%) from the free-throw line. The Red Devils led the majority of the night, but Labette kept the game close for most of the game. Allen was able to pull away in the final 10 minutes of play to extend the lead.
Jermaine Long led the Red Devils in scoring 16 points, and also dished out 6 assists and 2 steals. Ithello Cross also had a big game, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to end the game with a double-double. DaRon Mims and Jah-Kobe Womack both reached double figures with 12 points each.
Allen is currently 8-2 and will begin Conference play next Wednesday (December 2nd) with a 8:00 PM home game against the Seward County Saints.
