Allen improves to 4-0 on the season

Allen Men's Basketball defeated Hesston College Tuesday evening by the score of 93-89. Hesston got out to an early lead in the first half and the Red Devils trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half of play. Allen was able to cut the lead to 6 points at the end of the first half, with the score being 50-44 at the break. Hesston shot the ball very well in the first half of play, finishing 19-28 (67.9%) in the first half.

In the second half Allen was able to apply some pressure and force Hesston into turnovers and that allowed the Red Devils to get back in the game. Hesston finished the game with 20 turnovers to Allen's 9 turnovers for the game. In the final few minutes of play Allen grabbed the lead, but Hesston would not go away without a fight. Allen converted 6 straight free-throws in the final minute to seal the game. Jontray Harris shot the ball lights out for the Larks, going 9 for 18 for the game (5 of 8 from three point line).

Jah-Kobe Womack was Allen's leading scorer for the second straight game. Womack scored 29 points on 10 of 14 from the field (2 of 5 from the three point line, and 7 of 10 from the free-throw line), and also grabbed 6 rebounds. Jermaine Long scored 12 points and Jameel Henson scored 11 points and also grabbed 6 rebounds.

Allen improves to 4-0 on the season, and the Red Devils will travel to Sedalia, MO for a Classic at State Fair Community College over the weekend. Allen will play State Fair at 7:30 PM Friday night, and then play Moberly Area Community College at 3:00 PM Saturday afternoon.
