Allen over Labette 105-89

Allen Men's Basketball team defeated Labette CC in Parsons, Kansas Tuesday night in a ugly game. There were a total of 68 fouls between the two teams, but fortunately the Red Devils only committed 26 fouls to Labette's 42 fouls. Labette had 6 players foul out of the game. The first half teams traded baskets, and both teams struggled to get any defensive stops. Labette led the game at half time by the score of 51 to 43. Allen allowed Labette to shoot 63% from the field in the first half, but Allen responded on the defensive end in the second half and made it hard for Labette to find the same rhythm.

Allen clicked offensively in the second half as well going 17/34 (50%). Allen was led in scoring by Jermaine Long who finished the game with 20 points (10-12 from the free throw line). Jameel Henson had one of his better games in his career with Allen, scoring 15 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. Darnell Jones-Bowie finished the game with 13 points and 6 assists. Tremaine Fraiser and DaRon Mims also scored in double figures with 11 points and 10 points, respectively.

This was a good road win for the Red Devils as they had to fight through some adversity and overcome a first half deficit. Allen moves to 2-0 on the season, and the next home game is Friday (11/6) at 7:00 PM vs Oklahoma Wesleyan JV.
