Red Devils Fall Twice to Fort Scott

Fort Scott, KS- Coming off an opening weekend, series win the Red Devils were looking to continue their strong start.  Unfortunately Fort Scott got the upper hand on the Red Devils and took the 1st 2 games of the series 4-2 and 5-4. Taking the hill in Game 1 was Conner Bond.  Bond threw 5 innings walking 2 and striking out a pair.  Bond took the loss in Game 1 surrendering 4 runs, 3 of which were earned.  Throwing a clean inning was Jake Pease.  Pease walked 2 and struck out 1. Offensively for the Red Devils, Lee Musgraves was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Caleb Piechnick, Justus Burke, and Baxter Mays all had a hit.  Lucas Mccain added a double in Game 1.

Looking to bounce back from Game 1 the Red Devils handed the ball to Drew Young.  Young threw 4 innings giving up 5 runs1 only 1 of those was earned and striking out 3.  Alex Kafka and Trey Tomlinson combined to throw the final 4 innings walking 1 and striking out 2. Thad Huber led the offense in Game 2.  Huber had one hit but it was a 2 RBI single.  Having multi hit games were Brayden Whitchurch and Cole Chesnet.  Chesnet had a double and an RBI.

 The Red Devils continue the series at home on Sunday with games starting at 1 pm.
