Allen Splits First Two Games With Neosho

Chanute, KS- The Red Devil Baseball team opened Jayhawk Conference play on the road at Neosho County on Thursday. 

Getting the nod for the Red Devils was Sophomore right hander Connor Bond.  Bond went 4 2/3 innings giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, 2 of which were earned.  In those innings Bond struck out 6 and walked 2.  Getting the loss in Game 1 was KJ Mccrea.  Mccrea went 1 1/3 inning surrendering 3 runs and 2 homeruns. Offensively for the Red Devils in game 1 Justus Burke, Lucas Mccain and Caleb Piechnick all had multi hit games.  Burke who had 2 RBI's while Piechnick drove in the other run for the Red Devils.

In game 2 the Red Devils got another quality outing from the pitching staff.  Drew Young got the start going 6 innings giving up 2 runs and striking out 9.  Nate Postlethwait got his first win of the season going the final 3 innings giving up 1 unearned run and striking out 4. Brayden Whitchurch had 3 hits including 2 doubles and 1 run driven in.  Baxter Mays also had 3 hits and a RBI.  Justus Burke had 3 hits, with 2 doubles. Lee Musgraves finished up with 3 RBI's on the day.

The Red Devils return to the field on the road again at Neosho for the final 2 games of the series on Friday.
