Red Devils Win Opening Series Over Neosho

Chanute KS- Coming off of a split in the opening day of conference play both Allen and Neosho were looking to gain some separation from each other.  Ultimately it was the Red Devils who started out slowly finally got that separation winning both games on the day and winning the series. 

Getting the start in Game 3 was Ben Beutel.  Beutel went 3 innings surrendering 6 hits and 2 runs. Beutel got the no decision striking out 5 and walking 1.  Getting the win was Jacob Davenport who went 3 innings striking out 5 and only giving up 1 run.  Conner Clark picked up the save throwing a clean last inning. Lucas Mccain led the offensive charge for the Red Devils.  Mccain had the lone multi hit game with a double and an RBI.  Also having hits for the Red Devils were Brayden Whitchurch, Lee Musgraves.  Justus Burked added a double in game 1.

Taking the mound in Game 4 which was shortened to 7 innings due to darkness was sophomore Jackson Sloan. Sloan threw 2 innings striking out 2 and giving up 1 run.  Getting his first win of the year was James Oneal.  Oneal threw a clean inning.  Charlie Williams and Tyler Turner combined to throw the final 4 innings only giving up 1 run. Offensivly the Red Devils tallied 10 hits.  Lee Musgraves was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI's and a homerun.  Also hitting a homerun was Kameron Kilchrist who finished 1 for 3 scoring 2 runs.  Lucas Mccain and Brayden Whitchurch had multiple hit games.  Clayton Hale had a double and an RBI.

The Red Devils return to the field next Thursday against Fort Scott to continue Jayhawk Conference play.
