Red Devils Split With Scotties

Highland, KS- The Red Devils went on the road for a conference road double header against the Highland Community College Scotties. 

In Game 1 Nate Postlethwait (Valley Center, KS) took the mound and gave the Red Devils another strong outing. Postlethwait went 6 innings earning the win.  Tyler Turner (Lowell, Arkansas) fired a perfect 7th for the Red Devils.  Combined the pitching staff struck out 10 while walking none and scattering 7 hits on the day.

Baxter Mays (Sedalia, MO) started the Red Devils out with a lead that they would never relinquish hitting a solo homerun in the Top of the 1st.  Mays finished the day going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and RBI.  Sky-Lar Culver (Mountain Home, AR) was 2 for 4 with a Home Run and 3 RBI's.  Also having a multiple hit day was Matt Phipps (Dublin, OH) who finished 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Reid Browning (Topeka, KS) got the nod in game 2.  He went 1 1/3 inning striking out 3 and walking 1 and giving up 4 hits.  Trace Embray (Knoxville, IA) and Jacob Potter (Victoria, BC) went the final 6 2/3 innings.  Combined they scattered 3 hits striking out 8 and walking 3. Potter took the loss in the game. 

The Red Devils struggled early finding there footing as an offensive unit in Game 2. Leading the way was Culver again.  He finished 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI's.   Brayden Whitchurch (Wichita, KS) went 2 for 5 in the game.  Matt Phipps and Justice Burke (Bettendorf, IA) also had multiple hits in the game.
