Women’s Basketball

Coach Leslie Crane is pleased to announce the addition of 4 new recruits for the Women’s basketball program. These young women will be joining the team and attending school starting in August of 2022. They are Nadia Smith, Khassidy and Khamille Warr, and Madison Burroughs.

Nadia Smith hails from Lawton, Ok and played for MacArthur High School. She is the sister of current Red Devil Naomi Smith. But please don’t call her little sister as Nadia is a tenacious defender and rebounder. A team leader on her club she played the point on their full court defense and created so many scoring opportunities for her teammates. Her team went 22-10 and they were Regional Champions, Area Runner Up and made it to the first round of the state tournament in Oklahoma losing to Salpupla.

Coach Crane on Nadia- “Nadia is a talented and very smart player. She has the knack of always being near the ball and she uses her quickness to really wreak havoc on opponent’s best player. We see Nadia fitting in very well in our defensive system as she brings knowledge and state level competitiveness that will help her be successful at the college level.”

Khassidy and Khamille Warr will be graduating from Northside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Northside is one of the most successful programs in the state of Arkansas as they have won 7 State Championships under the guidance of Ricky Smith. These two young ladies were instrumental in getting their young team back to the finals of the state championship this year. Their strong commitment to working on their game paid off very well as they were asked to play different positions this season so the team could be successful. From scoring at the 3-point line to banging around in the lane for offensive rebounds this dynamic duo will bring a big PUNCH to the Red Devil team!

Coach Crane on Khassidy and Khamille Warr- “I am so excited to have these two young women as part of our Red Devil family. They both bring so much high level experience to our team. They have a high basketball IQ, many scoring weapons, and they are not afraid of playing physical. Coming from such a great program, they bring a wealth of playing experience to our program that was missing this last season.”

Madison Burroughs will be joining us from Pryor, Oklahoma. Madison is a shooting guard and will play that position for us as well. With her quickness and speed, Madison will be a welcome addition to the full court defensive system we will play. Madison was a key reason her young team made it to the Area Championship game, leading them in many categories.

Coach Crane on Madison- “Madison is a multifaceted guard with great quickness and speed, good ball handling, and scoring weapons. She is an off guard with point guard experience and defensive tenacity making her a welcome addition to both sides of the ball!!”

“All four of these young women will bring a high basketball IQ, quickness and speed, and they all 4 come from great high school programs. In recruiting, I look for good players from established programs, as they bring a discipline and dedication to the game and to furthering their educations and basketball futures. These student athletes will help build a solid foundation for our Women’s basketball program not only athletically, but also with their dedication to their education. We are very excited with the direction our program is taking with the addition of these 4 athletes.”
