Skyler Evans Signs with KWU

Allen Women’s basketball coach, Leslie Crane, has announced the signings of the Sophomore Women’s basketball players to the Universities of their choosing. “It is with bittersweet emotion that we announce our Sophomore players moving on. This is why they came to Allen, to play college basketball and have a chance to be recruited to the university level. Although they will be missed and hard to replace, we wish them all the best and look forward to seeing their success in the future.”

Skyler Evans shown here with her father Justin Evans and her mom Shauntel Evans, will be playing at Kansas Wesleyan University.  Hailing from Miami, Oklahoma Skyler, had been a starter her freshman year until a knee injury sidelined her for month missing half of the conference games.  During her Freshman season Skyler averaged 6pts and 4 rebounds per game, but it was her steadfast defense that helped change momentum in games that became so valuable an asset. Skyler would take charges and sacrifice herself for the team to swing the games momentum, draw fouls on drivers, and instill a spark of excitement in her teammate. Skyler was one of 4 Freshmen that returned to Allen for her Sophomore year as she chose to be part of the Red Devil Renovation. Her Sophomore year was no different, when it came to taking charges and igniting a fire of emotion for her team. Skyler led the team this year with her sacrifice while also maintaining her point and rebounding averages. Skyler brought toughness and hard-nosed play to the Devils, that was needed in games to fight for victories. This is what recruiters saw of her early on and what made her a standout to the KWU coaches. This is what she will continue to bring to her team and new program in the KCAC.
