Iola, KS-Looking to get things going back in the right direction, the Red Devils answered with 2 wins at home on Sunday. This was only the 1st time that the Red Devils had played on their field. Leading the offense was Thad Huber. Huber had 2 hits and 1 of which was a double. Huber also had 2 RBI's. Also having a multi hit game was Brayden Whitchurch. Dylan Price had a double. Sophomore Ben Beutel took the ball in Game 1 and never looked back. Beutel getting the win threw 6 innings walking 1 and striking out 9. Charlie Williams and Tyler Turner combined to throw the last inning.
In Game 2, Jackson Sloan got the start. Sloan gave up 2 runs and both were earned. Sloan walked 3 and struck out 1. Jacob Davenport followed throwing 2 innings and walking 1. Getting the win in game 2 was JP Oneal. Oneal threw 1 inning giving up a run, walking 1 and striking out 1. KJ Mccrea, Conner Clark and Nate Postlethwait combined to throw the final 4 innings allowing 2 hits and a walk. Postlethwait picked up his 2nd save of the season.Offensively for the Red Devils Justus Burke and Kameron Kilchrist both had 2 hits including a double a piece. Also having hits were Baxter Mays, Lucas Mccain, and Brayden Whitchurch.
The Red Devils are off till Thursday when they hit the road to play at KCK starting at 1 pm.
