Naomi Smith signs with University of the Ozarks

Allen Women’s basketball coach, Leslie Crane, has announced the signings of the Sophomore Women’s basketball players to the Universities of their choosing. “It is with bittersweet emotion that we announce our Sophomore players moving on. This is why they came to Allen, to play college basketball and have a chance to be recruited to the university level. Although they will be missed and hard to replace, we wish them all the best and look forward to seeing their success in the future.”

Naomi Smith, shown here with her father, Ernest Smith will be attending the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. The Lawton, Oklahoma native was a 2-year starter for the Red Devils averaging 10pts and 7 rebounds a game consistently. No matter who we played Naomi was always ready to knock down the important shot, find the open post player, steal the ball on the front of our press or secure the final rebound to win the game. Naomi is dedicated, loves the game and has an outstanding basketball IQ that will ensure her success on the court. She brings a true sense of selflessness to the game and she loves to pass the ball to the open player as much as she loves to score.  One of the 4 returning freshman this season, Naomi was an integral part of the Red Devil renovation. A Second Team All-Jayhawk Conference recipient she was voted Female Athlete of the Year by the Allen County coaching staff, ensuring her history as a successful Red Devil.
